Flowing Lines, Real Craft
The Marino is one of the clearest expressions of ercol's design heritage on our showroom floor. Flowing lines of steam-bent solid ash create a striking show wood frame, a technique that demands real skill and has been part of ercol's craft since the company's earliest years. It is a collection for anyone who wants the wood itself to be part of the design, not hidden beneath the upholstery.
The lineup is deliberately tight: a medium sofa and a matching chair, each built to the same exacting standard instead of being spread across a wide range of sizes.
British Timber, Sustainable Cushions
The Marino is made using Grown in Britain certified timber, which means the ash frame can be traced back to British-grown stock. The cushion interiors use Quallofil® Blue, a recycled polyester fibre fill that gives the Marino a real sustainability credential without compromising on comfort.
A Statement Piece, Not a Filler
Because the Marino is offered as a single sofa and chair, it tends to work best as a deliberate statement, the kind of furniture a room is built around. It suits a living room where the seating itself is meant to be admired, alongside simpler pieces that let the show wood frame stand out.
Fabric and Build
The Marino is upholstered across ercol's own fabric collection and the Universal Collection, giving a measured choice of colours and textures to complement the frame. The ash itself comes in a wide choice of finishes, from natural Clear Matt through to deeper tones such as Vintage and Burnt Umber.
