A Great British Design Story
Founded in 1920 by Lucian R Ercolani, ercol built its name on solid wood craftsmanship and the steam-bending technique that gave the world the Windsor chair. More than a century on, that heritage still runs through everything the brand makes. The iconic solid wood ranges are designed and crafted at ercol's own factory in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, where traditional skills sit alongside modern manufacturing.
The Full ercol Range, Under One Roof
ercol is one of the few furniture makers that can furnish a whole home, and Ward Brothers carries the breadth of it. The living collections cover sofas, chairs, snugglers, recliners and chaises, from the compact Aosta to the show wood Marino and the powered Mondello. The dining collections run from the heritage Windsor and the original ercol Collection through to contemporary oak ranges such as Romana, Bosco and Teramo. The bedroom collections bring the same craft to beds, wardrobes and storage across Rimini, Salina, Winslow and more.

Few brands span heritage and contemporary design as comfortably as ercol. The same workshop that still makes the 1950s Butterfly Chair also produces sleek, modern oak bedroom furniture, which means you can build a consistent look or mix periods to suit your home.
Materials, Finishes and Fabrics
ercol works primarily in solid ash and solid oak, with show wood frames on many pieces and a choice of up to ten ash finishes across the range. Upholstery is offered across ercol's own fabric collections and the Universal Collection, in fabric and leather. Selected ranges are made using Grown in Britain certified timber.
